Who We Are

We are a not for profit organization based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, incorporated under the Societies Act.  We are sponsored by the Scots: The North British Society which was founded in Halifax in 1768.  The Scots Highland Company continues the tradition of involving young men in outdoor pursuits and community service begun by its sponsor in 1922.

The Scottish Tradition

The group is proud of its affiliation with Halifax's Scottish Society - the Scots (founded 1768).  Members wear the kilt on formal occasions.  Piping instruction is available on request.  Membership is open to all young men between the ages of 11and 17 years of age.

Volunteer Screening

All leaders with the Scots Highland Company are volunteers.  They are interviewed and satisfy Police Record and Child Abuse Registry Checks.
